Ch. Jean Guillot 1990 St. Emilion

11/95. A simple, unclassified (I think) St. Emilion.
COLOR: Normal violet-red, noticeable paling towards the rim.
NOSE: Pleasant aroma of black currants. Medium woody bouquet. Hints of funkiness.
TASTE: Not very tasteful though certainly not tasteless. Harsh tannins and some other bitter element overpower most of the fruit. Still, very drinkable.
LENGTH: Surprisingly good and lasting pleasant aftertaste.
TEXTURE & BALANCE: Medium body, no great structure or flesh. Too tannic and short on acidity.
OVERALL: Quite good as a non-pretentious wine. I have no idea what it costs for I got it as present, but I would imagine about $10-$13 (in France). I am not an expert at this price-range, but I believe there are better wines for that money.
MARK: 14/20.aaaaaaaaBUY MORE? No.
