Beaune - Bressandes 1990 A. Morot

9/97. Bought in London Sep-95 for $22 (imported for $36 net).
This Beaune 1er Cru by a very respected winemaker and from a great vintage is rare real bargain (B)! Took this bottle to a restaurant for lunch with friends.
COLOR: Good ruby red color. Hardly noticeable clearing towards the rim.
NOSE: Excellent condensed fresh fruit, as is so typical of the '90 vintage. A low-key 'Bourgogne Nose'. My three friends, none of which ever tasted a real (B), all fell for the nose.
TASTE: Refreshingly vibrant, good fruit and acidity, medium 'winyness', weak tannins. Very satisfying on the palate.
LENGTH: Not much there.
TEXTURE & BALANCE: Light weight (B). More elegant than powerful. Pretty good balance. 'En Point' now.
OVERALL: Excellent+! Not a Grand Vin [but then 'Grand Vins' don't cost $22, (B) or otherwise...]
MARK: 17+/20.aaaaaaaaBUY MORE? Yes.
