Vernaccia di San Gimignano 1989 La Rampa di Fugnano

4/01. Bought in San Gimignano, Italy, Oct-00 for $28.
My first taste of this Italian white wine, made in the beautiful Tuscan town of San Gimignano. I was told this particular 'Privato' wine is the best San Gimignano.
COLOR: Medium-light yellow.
NOSE: Refreshingly clean nose. Aromas of lemon, white fruit (somewhat similar to Sauvignon Blanc) and flowers in bloom. Extremely nice and pleasant. No sign of wood.
TASTE: Surprisingly complex and tasty. Unpretentious but wholesome and flavorful. Dry but full of elegant fruit.
LENGTH: Medium nice aftertaste.
TEXTURE & BALANCE: Light bodied wine that is wonderfully fresh clean and well balanced.
OVERALL: Fine. Extremely pleasant wine.
MARK: 17.5/20.BUY MORE? Yes.
