Yarden - Cabernet Sauvignon |
1995 |
Golan Wineries |
8/02. Bought locally, Jun-98 for $17 (current market price $30).
The flag-wine of the Golan Wineries, and arguably the best widely available Israeli wine.
COLOR: Medium dark violet-red. Some clearing around the rim. Noticeable sediment.
NOSE: Ripe forward nose of mature black fruit. Softer and gentler than the usual dominant blackcurrant aromas. Wood tones are well integrated. Nice though not great.
TASTE: Smooth mature sweetish flavors, with good winyness. Quite concentrated and harmonious. Very pleasant.
LENGTH: Nothing of note here.
TEXTURE & BALANCE: Medium-full body. Nice structure and fine balance.
OVERALL: Very Good. Fully mature now.
MARK: 17/20. | BUY MORE? Yes. |
